Following the Vidourle river, you'll find villages offering beautiful typical regional architecture: Romanesque churches and chapels, castles, and more.
There are Roman roads, buildings specially constructed to house silkworms, water mills and wheels, stone huts and tanneries that give witness to the many crafts once present in the region.
The landscape varies greatly: agricultural lands, arid scrub in the hills, woods rich with animal life, and the waters of the Vidourle and side streams (such as the Crieulon, the Brestalou or the Courme) are well known by local fishermen.
In the wild hills, there are hiking and mountain biking paths awaiting your stay, that will take you to the heart of the local beauty.
The taste of the local wine, the aroma of honeys, the smoothness of the goat cheeses, the freshness of the fruit and vegetables will delight you in the villages and countryside. |
Quissac and the picturesque little villages of the region all spread out along a river valley that flows from the Cevennes mountains along 80kms to the Mediterranean sea.
