In the site of Gailhan, three different villages were built, the oldest 2600 years ago. Today the village sits in the shelter of the hills and opens onto the vineyard-covered plain.

In the archeological digs on the oldest site in Gailhan, the remains have proven that already vineyards were cultivated.

An old tradition is still active in Gailhan: the festival of Saint Privat, the object of prayers in older times for rain or good weather.
